Hey can you guys check this video.

Just wondering if this is excessive? Any feedback appreciated.

Thanks

I've seen much, much worse on 6.5's still running as daily drivers. Doesn't look bad to me, personally. How much from the oil fill cap? That's an easier one to gauge for most of us.

And relocate that PMD out of the engine compartment. It'll fry there eventually despite the cooler. Ask me how I know. ;)

I was thinking about it, but I took out the arm that goes into the intake and it was blowing steady blowby, so it makes me feel that the system is working properly?

I actually haven't driven it nearly that much. I do have an oil leak (which I believe is from my oil cooler lines) so I can't accurately answer that. I have driven it MAYBE 1000km so that is like 600 miles haha.

looks just like mine. And I put a 1000 Miles a week on it.
That is good to know. I am trying to change the thread of the title, but I have a few OTHER concerns. It doesn't let me edit my original post anymore.

New questions/concerns

I have difficulty starting, have marginal blowby, and am only getting about 13 miles to the gallon. Can this lead to an injector problem? I am hoping one injector or two isn't adding too much fuel causing a rich mixture and causing blowby.

I know a compression test is #1 before I start replacing things, and I always think worst case scenario, does anyone have any tips?

I am also wondering what some symptoms would be if I had a LEAKING injector. I know I would have to leak like half of my fuel to get only 13 MPG but I have no idea what oil looks like with fuel in it.

I always have nightmares about my truck. Last night the oil had the consistency of water and my motor exploded. Glad I woke up haha!

The best procedure is replacing them all together. The stock lines and fittings are junk and make a mess of everything. Look into an aftermarket line kit w/ or w/o a cooler. I went with PMDcable.com's line kit and reused my stock cooler. Worked excellent for me but I heard of a few people stripping out the threads in their stock cooler so some people decide on the complete kit. Either way it is far better than the stock line setup. The instal is pretty straight forward once you have the grill and skid out of the way. The most difficult part for me was getting the fittings into the filter adapter and having them tightened down so they faced forward for the lines.

A diesel cap should always say "Diesel" somewhere on the cap. Those aftermarket locking caps are a generic design to fit any filler tube but targeted mostly for the gas burners. If fuel theft is a problem where you live and that cap is a necessity I suggest drilling a small hole in the cap... 3/32" or 1/8" max. The draw from a healthy LP should still exceed the flow from the return line and the amount of air drawn in through the vent hole to maintain a small vacuum in the tank while the engine is running. ~FH

Thanks for the tip. I didn't consider it too much of a vacuum but I will definitely get something that is vented. Heard of a tank collapse occurring and almost sh@* my pants.

oh and for the oil cooler lines, Yeah it is definitely the lines, they are completely covered in crud. I did have a coolant AND diesel leak and I have/am about to fix both of those.

Here is a pretty cool writeup I found on the net.

I am considering just replacing with factory OEM or maybe looking around for an upgrade. Hope it isn't as difficult as the writeup says!
